An engineering business, handed to its people

Corporate & Commercial · 2019

Cladding, without a ten‐year wait

Real Estate

We acted for the residents’ management company of a harbourside apartment building in Bristol, securing remediation of unsafe cladding from the original developer under the routes created by the Building Safety Act 2022, without issuing proceedings.

Two families, one orchard

Rural & Estates · Dispute Resolution

A succession dispute between two branches of a Somerset cider-making family, resolved at mediation into a partnership agreement and a reorganised landholding. The founders would have recognised it.

A housing association merger in Wales

Charities & Housing

We advised on the merger of two Welsh housing associations, including the regulatory consents and the transfer of several thousand homes to the merged association.

A failed supply contract, recovered

Dispute Resolution

We recovered losses for a West Country food producer after a packaging supplier’s systems failed in peak season. The claim settled at mediation shortly before trial.

A landed estate, divided fairly

Private Client · Rural & Estates

We advised the trustees of a Herefordshire estate on dividing land, cottages and a let farm between three beneficiaries, working through the agricultural tenancy and tax questions along the way.
